At Mesa General Hospital, we provide for
your obstetrical and gynecological health care needs in a
family-oriented, friendly and comfortable environment. Our
entire team, including OB/GYN physicians, nurses, anesthesiologists,
nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwife, and medical
assistants, are dedicated to your care and comfort.For over
forty years, Mesa General’s OB staff has celebrated
life’s most memorable events with families from across
the East Valley.
Women’s
Care Center at
Mesa General Hospital
The Women’s Care Center is a Level 1 Perinatal Center
certified by Arizona Perinatal Trust. We provide a comprehensive
OB/maternity program for women interested in delivering their
baby in a family-centered environment. We feature highly skilled
staff and modern medical technology to provide the special
care parents and babies need. There are six labor/delivery
suites, 11 private post-partum rooms, and four semi-private
rooms for families to share the joy of a new baby.
Mesa General Hospital accepts most insurance
plans, and there are various cash packages available for women
without insurance.
The current rate for a routine vaginal birth
with an epidural is $3500, and $2750 for a routine vaginal
birth without an epidural. Births requiring a Cesarean section
are $5450. These fees include the obstetrician fees, anesthesiologist
fees, hospital stay, and normal nursing care. They do not
include the pediatrician/neonatologist fee.
When making a decision about which hospital
to deliver, please ensure that the price you are being quoted
includes all costs, except the pediatrician/neonatologist
fee. Sometimes, and with some hospitals, fees for obstetrician
and anesthesiologist are not included.

Women’s
Care Center Clinic at Mesa General Hospital
The Women’s Care Center Clinic at Mesa General Hospital
offers high-quality reproductive health services at a low
cost for women who do not have health insurance or must pay
high deductibles.
The following services are offered on a cash-based
payment system:
• Free pregnancy testing
• Pre-natal services
• Well-woman exams
• Family planning education and care
• Sexually transmitted disease screening, treatment
and education
• Mammograms and bone density testing
• Menopausal and post-menopausal services
Pre-natal care if very important to the health
of both the pregnant woman and baby. Our prenatal care package
is $440, and includes the following:
• All pre-natal and post-natal visits
• Routine lab work
• One ultrasound during the pregnancy
• Childbirth classes
We will work with you to set up a payment
plan, if you wish. English and Spanish-speaking staff are
dedicated to your care and comfort.

Childbirth/
Prenatal Classes
The fear of the unknown makes most soon-to-be parents nervous
about the birthing experience. To prepare you for childbirth,
Mesa General offers childbirth classes that cover topics such
as vaginal and cesarean deliveries, pain medications, breathing
techniques and equipment used in the delivery room. We also
offer a breastfeeding class to prepare you for lactation as
soon as your baby arrives. Many expectant mothers enjoy sharing
their pregnancy stories with each other in these classes.

Meet
the Doctors
Kenneth Clayton, DO, FACOOG
Dr. Clayton is Board Certified by the American College
of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists and serves
patients at the Women’s Care Center Clinic at Mesa General
Hospital.
Clayton received his Doctorate of Osteopathic
Medicine at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and
did his residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in
Colten, California.
Stephine Kramer, MD
Dr. Stephine Kramer is a Diplomate with the American
Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the Medical Director
of the East Valley Women’s Medical Group, and also sees
patients at the Women’s Care Center Clinic at Mesa General
Hospital.
Kramer earned her medical degree from the
University of Nebraska Medical Center and her bachelor’s
degree in Psychobiology from UCLA. Her Residency was performed
at Martin Luther King, Jr. / Charles Drew Medical Center.
Dr. Kramer was awarded the Sears Breast Health Awareness Award
in 2000 in recognition of her commitment to educating women
about breast health.
In 1992, Dr. Kramer was awarded the OB/GYN Resident of the
Year Award in recognition of her skills as a physician, along
with the Drew Medical Center Faculty of year award in 1998
for outstanding skills as a Physician Teacher.

Lee S. Yosowitz, M.D., FACOOG
Dr. Yosowitz is a graduate of Indiana University, graduating
with a degree in biological sciences. He received his medical
school training at Indiana University and completed his residency
at Indiana University Medical Center.
Dr. Yosowitz became a lifetime Board Certified
specialist in OB/GYN in 1983, and shortly thereafter was elected
to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a
Fellow. He is a member of the American Medical Association,
Arizona Medical Association, Maricopa County Medial Society,
Phoenix OBGYN Society, American College of OBGYN, American
Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society of Laproendoscopic
Surgeons, and the Society of Pelvic Reconstructive Surgeons.
